Beloved Friends
It gives us great pleasure to share with you the wonderful things that have happened in the Sangita Ministries during the past 4 months. God has enabled us to reach out to many needy people. We are grateful to him for he has found us trustworthy and day by day entrusting us with bigger responsibilities.
Apart from caring for the 55 children at the orphanage please find below few of our activities :
Sangita Orphanage Children Medical Check up
On March 27th we had one of our regular medical checkups for the children at the orphanage by a child specialist Dr. Percy Sumitran. This was taken care of by Sangeetha Sharon one of our earlier staff who was our social worker. We were pleased to know that the doctor reported after testing all the kids that they are all keeping well and healthy.
These are the comments of Dr.Percy
“Dr. Percy highly appreciated the caretakers. She said that in her 34 years of service, this is the only orphanage were she didn't come across even a single case of Scabies. The hygiene level is excellent! The children are healthy too. There are only very few children may be 3 to 5 children are under weight. Probably they are newly arrived and they'll be picking up slowly”.
On the way back , she commented saying, "while returning from some orphanages after medical check ups, I feel very depressed on seeing the condition of the children. But today am very happy that these have really got a good home. You are doing a great work. God will surely bless you people abundantly"
We praised God for the doctor’s comments . We exist to serve the needy and fearfully carry out our responsibilities.
We thank you Sangeetha and Dr. Percy for your service towards the children.

Sangita 3 New Kids
Three kids were abandoned by their single parent (mother) who decided to marry another man as her former husband deserted her. The kids were found begging in the streets of Chennai and were victims of child abuse. A NGO rescued them and we were contacted whether we could provide a home immediately for them as the rules and regulations of many orphanages and shelters did not permit them to take new admissions at this point of time. Since our home is 24 hrs 365 days open to kids who need a home, they were admitted at the Sangita Home. We had to shave their hair off as it was full of lies and knits. They are cheerful and happy now
We praise God that he has given us a heart to see beyond rules and regulations in times of need |

Sangita Community work.
During Christmas 2006 when we gave gifts to the poor widows in the neighbouring villages we observed that their need is very much more than just receiving one time gifts for Christmas. These poor old widows almost starve every day with just one meal of basic food to eat. Their health is poor and it is heartbreaking to see their last days in this world spent in misery.
We decided to provide these widows with a kilo of sugar, a kilo of rice, a kilo of dhal, calcium and B’complex tablets every month. It is a huge responsibility and commitment, yet we were able to initiate this programme on the 10th of April.
We distributed the food items and the medicines and were able to share with them the ill effects of chewing tobacco and other stuff . They basically do this to control their hunger. We promised them that we will meet with them every month and share with them and teach them some good values they would need to follow in life.
We have restricted ourselves to just 6 villages. There are 8 more villages and more widows who have similar need . We will include them once we find funding for them.

Its been quite difficult to carry out these tasks in the open land in the village in this summer heat when the temperature is shooting high. God has been merciful to us.
