Dear Friends and Well Wishers

We take immense pleasure in sharing with you the activities of Sangita Orphanage and the Community work during the past 3 months. Apart from the regular activities of caring for the children a few highlights of the happenings this quarter is found below

Sangita Orphanage

There are 66 children at present in our home. The kids are all happy and healthy and live in a secure atmosphere

Visitors Day

The children at the orphanage are encouraged to see visitors once in 3 months. If the child has a leprosy affected parent or any relative or single parent who cannot take care of the child due to one of the many social evils or issues that they face ..they have an opportunity to see the child having a good life. They come to the orphanage and spend time with the children. Its amazing to see their excitement to see the child transformed. Its sad though for the kids who do not get visitors. This event took place on the 9th of September

Independence Day

On August 15th .Indepence Day is celeberated. The kids are proud to wear the national flag pinned to their clothes. The day is spent watching special programs on television that instill patriotism to his country . Special food ,sweets are made available for the children. All around there is a sign of freedom and festivity.

Preschooling

We are so happy that we are able to provide this preschooling facility for our children . This will help them a lot when they enter regular schools next academic year. 25 Children attend this facility which is in our locality. Children learn Alphabets, songs, stories and many other things that will help them cope with regular schooling.

SANGITA COMMUNITY PROGRAM

Widows Program

210 widows attend every month to receive food provisions . They come together and are taught evils of some of the evil addictions they are practicing. They are taught simple truths and values through short stories and skits . The widows are provided with a kilo of rice,Sugar and Dhal. They are also given vitamin tablets. The widows look forward to attending this program. We also are very happy to serve these widows.

Youth Program

We have initiated programs for the youth of the surrounding village. The youth are interested in sports and we plan to have cricket and volley ball programs for them. We have initiated volleyball program where we have volunteers from Sports ministry playing and teaching them good values of life. We plan to bring in transformation among the youth through these games and teachings.

Children’s Program

Our desire to work among the childen of the villages took shape on August 15th. 180 children from the villages gathered for a program. We had sports activities for them . They were also taught how to grow up into good responsible human beings since childhood. They were given medals for winning in competitions. Buiscuits and a drink was served to them. We plan to meet with them on a regular basis.

We thank all our readers and well wishers who support us for your patient reading. We have almost come to the close of yet another year and to look back all that we were able to achieve in the past months is really amazing . We thank the Lord Almighty and each one of you who have been a support to us. JEHOVAH JIREH.

OUR IMMEDIATE NEEDS

We are looking for support for our widows in the community for about 60 of them per month to provide them with the provisions and vitamins. This would cost around US $ 4 per widow .

You can make use of the PAYPAL facility to make donations online.
