This Issue : February 2005

On February 5th the Sangita Orphanage turned 7. Marvelous to think back the path we had trodden. All the way God’s hand had led us and whenever there had been single footprints the Lord had carried us. Yes most times it had been single footprints.
Praise God.
On Feb 5th 1998 the first child walked in and today we have 120 kids in our program. Many kids have found home, love, shelter and meaning in life through the Sangita Ministries.

The month February had been a special month for all at Sangita. On February 5th, Grace celebrated her birthday along with the staff and kids of the Sangita Home. It was a joyous occasion personally for us. The kids and the staff prayed for her and the day was a great blessing.

On the 7th of Feb we had 2 additions to the family of the Sangita Home.

Lydia --- was brought to us by one of our acquaintances, a sister from a Hindu background. She is an orphan girl, 19 yrs old, a school dropout. She has her maternal grandmother who is her guardian. Lydia had accepted Christ while in school. She was earlier known as Selvi and got her name changed to Lydia after she became a Christian. She was brought to her grandmother’s home to take care of her ailing grandmother. Thus she could not complete her schooling and the grandmother after regaining from her illness started to treat Lydia badly and insisted she brings home money “somehow”. She was sent out of the house and starved and beaten up. One of the reasons is that she became a Christian. A neighbor who could not bear seeing Lydia tormented, brought her to our home accompanied by the grandmother.

The grandmother told us that she does not want to see Lydia anymore and the God whom she worships may take care of her. Lydia wept a lot. After having her food and resting for a while she joined the Sangita home. Today she is cheerful and thanks God for showing her a home. What a great privilege to save a life and soul!!!.

Murugan 4 yrs, little Murugan landed in our home as his father died and the mother with the child was left behind without any food and shelter by their kith and kin. The mother a poor coolie had to work during the daytime at a construction site to feed herself. The child had to be exposed to all sorts of abuses while the mother was at work. Hence Murugan was brought here. He was quite sad when he came in, but now happy and contented in the comforts of the Sangita home.

The Sangita staff had been fasting and praying for the future of Sangita Ministries for 40 days (3 of them). The fast got over on the 22nd of February and God is doing miracles in the Sangita Home. More details on this will be featured in the March newsletter.

The children are cheerful and happy and none of them had been ill in the month of February. Praise God

Stay with us and Pray for us

May God’s blessings rest upon all those who read this.

Grace and Paul Moses
