This Issue : December 2004

From day 1 of December the Sangita Home was full of activities and preparations for the forth-coming Christmas programme. We had sent appeals to our sponsors and well wishers about the needs of the Sangita home for Christmas. Many of them responded in whatever way they could and we were able to provide a wonderful Christmas for the kids.

The clothes were stitched for all the kids during the early days of December. Shoes and sandals were purchased. Many hours were spent in wrapping Individual gifts for 120 kids. Preperations went on for the Christmas programme. Choreographs, bible verse recitation, action songs, nativity play all were rehearsed many times. The home was decorated beautifully.

The Christmas celebrations apart from the one on the 25th Dec happened in 2 phases. Since Tammy was leaving after staying with us for 5 months we had the Christmas programme for the 56 kids along with the staff and well wishers on the 18th of December at the “Manna” farm. A total about 100 people were there. After the Christmas programme dinner was served at the Sangita home. Many of our well wishers got the opportunity to visit the home and the kids.

On the 19th of December Rajkumar, Domnic and his friends visited the home and spent few hours with the kids served them lunch and gave each of them gifts donated 5 bicycles for the children.

The children from the 2 other homes where they are studying came on the 24th of December. On 25th December in the evening we cleberated Tammy’s 24th birthday and the bigger children were given Christmas gifts. It was a real joy to see the smiles on the kid’s faces as they opened their presents.

On the 25th evening as we were returning home after spending time at the orphanage did we realize that we had not had any time as a family together for Christmas and that we had not bought clothes or gifts for ourselves or our children. Our joy was complete to know that this Christmas we had given ourselves to the needy and not kept anything back to ourselves. We experienced the “true joy of Christmas”.

The saddest part of this month was bidding farewell to Tammy, the most wonderful person we have ever come across our lives. She has truly impacted our lives and we wish her God’s choicest blessings upon her for all her future endeavours. We wish she would come back and be part of the life of Sangita.

The Sangita home is bubbling with the joy of 120 kids. What a special privilege to serve them!!!

The Tsunami disaster of the 26th has left us pained to see the hundreds of children rendered homeless. We have opened up Sangita Home II next to the orphanage to accommodate orphaned and destitute kids between the ages of 2 and 10 from all over Tamil Nadu. At the moment they will be provided a home, food, shelter and love.

On behalf of the Sangita Ministries we will be supplying Rice and Bedsheets to the affected people this weekend.

Stay with us and Pray for us

May God’s Blessings rest upon all who read this.

Grace and Paul Moses
